Tour details

On the morning of September 23rd 1536, the city readied itself to welcome the great King Henry II. Each and every Lyonnais was dressed up in his finest attire, the city was magnificent.

Follow your guide-actor through the streets of the Vieux-Lyon early in the morning, while the city still slumbers peacefully, and let your imagination transport you back to the Vieux-Lyon of the Renaissance. At such a quiet morning hour, you will be able to explore the hidden treasures of this historic quarter of Lyon: the fascinating traboules and the beautiful courtyards.

Your guide-actor becomes an innkeeper in the 16th century (without costume) and takes you to see the decorations and many spectacular surprises planned for the king. With anecdotes and stories from everyday life in Renaissance Lyon, you will discover the rich history of the city. A unique and poetic way to discover Lyon’s most treasured heritage site, Old Town Lyon.
